the working women of vietnam carrying their day on their shoulders in a sea of mayhem
the simple but hard life of the h'mong minority people in the remote part of northern vietnam. two 12 year old young women , our
friends lee and zen learning to survive through their mother's teachings of tribal culture
the fertile landscape of the northern part of vietnam where one of their means of survival are terraced rice fields
we are humbled as we embark on a 3 day trek in these captivating valleys meeting minorities and receiving the hospitality of a local family's home to cover our heads during the night
a young life of the minorities with big shoes to fill

one of the many waterfalls of sapa

one of the most visited places in vietnam - ha long bay where the lime stone rises up through the water creating a myriad of small islands

enjoying a few days of the beach and national forest on cat ba island

our favorite town of vietnam hoi an
a small quaint fishing village filled with inviting artists and artisans

a solitary fisherman on the beautiful beach of hoi an where we enjoyed the refreshing waters battling the humidity

moving back in time when we arrive to the kingdom of cambodia stepping into angkor "the holy city"

the ruins of the capital city of the khmer empire

angkor thom a buddhist temple built in the late 12th century

angkor a home of many buddhist nuns
they have three more additional rules than the monks to live by

1. not where any perfume or jewelry
2. not eat anything after lunch
3. never position themselves higher than the buddhist monk

Banteay Srey a hindu temple built in the late 10th century

a temple built to honor the beauty of the woman

this temple has been standing for over a thousand years and he thinks it needs his support

where nature has wrapped its limbs around the sacred buddhist site of ta prohm

a hidden face of tranquility

life in the floating village moves with the season as the lake fills and diminishes

one way of living in this country where 95% of the people can not afford to pay for medical care for their children

where some families are close to starvation

we end our journey here in cambodia with our hearts pierced with all the beauty all the sadness and all the spirit of these two countries knowing that we want to come back one day

thank you
